new work

A couple of weeks ago a gift shop in Chilham got in touch and  asked if they could stock some of my stuff.  This is great but as I  have not picked up a needle since March I am having  a bit of a panic.  Nice Things in Ramsgate also asked if I had anything for them. So I have been busy with the calico and paint.  Here are a couple of small cats. Calico fabric painted and stained. They are mainly rag stuffed with a bit of polyester toy stuffing for bulk.  Standing about 8.1/2″ tall they would look really cute on a shelf in the kitchen or by the fireplace.

Just when I thought to give Pinterest another go its gone all strange on me!  I must have opened 2 accounts at one point, heaven knows why, but there you go.  So the one I want just sits there with my logo and a few pins and I cant get at it.  Hopefully Pinterest will sort it out.  I cant remember if I opened a business account with them either so that may complicate matters.  But I am sure they are used to dozy so and so’s like me and take it all in their stride.  With a bit of luck it will be back up and running by next week – lets hope I haven’t gone off the whole idea again by then.

Another Bank Holiday

Posted on

Okay that’s another Bank Holiday out of the way so hopefully the weather will start to pick up and we will see some sunshine.  Today doesn’t seem hopeful though, cold and drizzly.  It was a good weekend though on the pier. Among other stuff I sold the two yellow distressed chairs to a lovely couple for their holiday home and a couple of little primitive dogs went to new owners.  It does leave me short of small furniture though as I had sold the smaller table a while back.  Thought I would experiment a bit with different paint and have ordered some milk paint from Juniper and Roses- .  She is very helpful and I do love extreme distressed furniture so I will see what happens.

bank holiday blues

Okay so here I am on a bright sunny Bank Holiday Monday ( now that’s a contradiction in terms!) in bed full of cold.  No doubt I will feel better tomorrow when I go back to work but as for now urghhhh.  Sniffly and snuffly does’nt come into it so I will not be at my little Pier Hut today passing it round. Apologies to anyone who passed by yesterday as I left early. However trying not to be idle even when feeling totally ick I am using the opportunity to list on my Folksy and Etsy shop.

Just listed this little fellow in my Folksy Shop hoping to get much more in there in the coming days and weeks so keep tuned!

Primitive ….

One I made earlier! This little fellow is made from vintage linen (nice and thick to work with) stained with coffee, cinnamon and vanilla mixture so he is rather pale and lovely. He is approx 8″ tall and standing on old cotton reels. These are vintage plastic ones that I took a fancy to but I have another little dog who stands on wooden ones. You can just see him in the background together with his little buddy. They all have cute red felt collars with vintage metal buckles. The will be in my Folksy shop as soon as I can work it out – or call in to Hut 8 at Herne Bay Pier Village, Herne Bay,Kent

updating and new stuff

Starting the blog here with a note to say I have also reopened my Folksy Shop. Yay – its been a while. They have changed it round and given lots more options and stuff so I am re-learning how to get up and running. I have bought a couple of things from there recently which led me to thinking that I should give it another go. The great thing about Folksy is that it is totally UK based. Not that I don’t love Etsy and the worldwide artist and crafters’ it supports but wow there is so much and the competition is so fierce it is very daunting. Now to get off my bum and take some photos.
